BIO/PROFILE

Ms. RACHEL KAKRABA holds a Diploma certificate in Communication and a Degree in Journalism, all from the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ), Ghana's premier Communication and Journalism education and training institution.

Throughout her career, RACHEL has worked and gained excellent and extensive hands-on experience within the field of public relations, communication, information gathering and dissemination, media and press industry as a field researcher, investigator, reporter, news editor and reader.

She first received her journalism, information gathering, public relations, communication, education, information dissemination, awareness raising and sensitization training from the media organization, Good News FM, in Takoradi. After her graduation, she worked with this organization as a news reporter for about one year.

Subsequently, RACHEL left Good News FM to join Ghana's premier media house, Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) which is the national broadcaster in Ghana. She remained in active work for a considerable number of years until she requested and was granted permission to pursue other professional/career development goals and ambitions.

These included, but not limited to pursuing and successfully obtaining a Diploma in Communication and a Degree in Journalism from the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ).

Upon graduation from the Ghana institute of journalism, she returned to the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) for her national service and still working for this institution after her mandatory national service. Her present position at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) involves conceptualizing, developing and introduction of public interest programs, generating news and information, covering programs and events which are of concern to the general public and aimed at drawing attention to those issues.

This requires her to regularly interact closely and extensively with all manner of people from different backgrounds and diverse levels of society. These includes government ministers, appointees, officials, local authorities/assemblies and communities. Entrepreneurs, corporate and business community, leaders, policy and decision makers, other professionals and key development stakeholders at the grassroots level.

RACHEL has been on Kra Travel’s (Kra Integrated Solutions Ltd.'s) strategic management team since its inception. She is a Founding Director of Kra Travel (Kra Integrated Solutions Ltd). And works functionally as the Strategic Corporate Innovation, Creativity, Communication, Publicity, Information and Media, Customer, Stakeholder, Social and Public Liaison, Engagements and Relationships Building Lead.

Her excellent versatility, experience and rich career/professional backgrounds contributes immensely to achieving and maintaining Kra Travel’s (Kra Integrated Solutions Ltd) short/long term organizational strategic mandates, goals, objectives, targets, aims, vision and mission.
